Leipzig/Halle airport in Germany handled 1.05 million tonnes (mt) of air freight in 2016, an increase of 6.5% compared to 2015, and got off to a good start in the new year. Operated by Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG, Leipzig/Halle airport saw cargo volumes rise by 6.9% year on year in January to 84,782 tonnes.
