APL to launch China Australia Service, calling at Japan 20 April 2017

APL is to launch a China Australia Service (CA3) that links north Asia to east coast Australia.

The weekly service starts on May 21, sailing from Yokohama then to call at Osaka, Busan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

IAG Cargo starts new freighter service from Madrid to B 20 April 2017

IAG Cargo started a new freighter service between Madrid and Basel to meet the demands of Switzerland's fast growing pharmaceutical sector.

Customers will have access to 29,000 kilogrammes of lift per flight, expanding the airline's existing short-haul freighter network by 6%. Scheduled services will operate on Sundays with a return flight on the same day.

CMA CGM has announced a general rate increase on cargo from Asia to Mexico, west coast of South America and the west coast of Central America of USD 600 per Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit (TEU).

South Eastern Railway achieves highest ever freight loa 20 April 2017

South Eastern Railway (SER) during the financial year 2016-17 has loaded 147.73 million tonnes (mt) of freight which is 13.44 mt more than last year (2015-16) registering a growth of 10.01%.

In freight sector, SER has surpassed the previous highest loading of 134.29 mt achieved in 2015-16.

Palakkad rail division registers dip in freight loading 20 April 2017

The Palakkad division of Southern Railways has loaded 6.222 million tonnes (mt) of freight during 2016-17 against 6.484 mt in 2015-16.

The division attributed this dip in freight loading to lesser loading of coal and cement and low demand for fertilizer and gypsum during the period.
