Air Charter Service sales up 24%, profit by 20% in 3 mo 19 June 2017

Air Charter Service (ACS) has posted a 24% year-on-year increase in revenue in the three months to the end of April.

ACS chief executive Justin Bowman said, "We had a significant increase in terms of turnover and profit - both more than 20% up on the same time last year across our 20 offices.”

HK containers continue to reverse slide, up 13% to 1.85 19 June 2017

The Port of Hong Kong increased container throughput 13.4% year on year to 1.85 million Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit (TEU) in May.

Kwai Tsing terminals experience a 14.3% increase to 1.48 million TEU, reversing a downward trend that has dogged the port for since 2015.

According to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI), SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday declined 5.9% to USD 880 per Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit (TEU) from USD 933 per TEU.

A top company official has said, Gujarat Pipavav Port Limited (GPPL) plans to double its roll-on roll-off (RoRo) business over the next two years on the back of strong car exports from India.
