Qatar airport first half cargo increases 19% to 980,000 tonnes

Qatar 's Hamad International Airport (HIA), posted a 19% year-on-year first half increase in cargo volume to 980,000 tonnes.

In the first six months of the year, 19 million passengers passed through the airport, representing a year-on-year increase of 8%, said the airport authority.

Airport chief operating officer Mohammed Al Meer said that "Our growing passenger figures and cargo operations are a testament to our resilient and sustainable airport operations.”

He said that "Our promise of operational excellence is at the core of our business. HIA is a robust organisation backed by a committed and hardworking team.”
