Asia-Europe rate drops 2% to USD 859 TEU, off 4.8% to USWC

Spot rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe dropped 2% to USD 859 per Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit (TEU) in the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).

Asia-Mediterranean trade slipped 1.8% to USD 838 per TEU.

Asia to the US west coast declined 4.8% week-over-week to USD 1,424 per FEU while those to the east coast down 2.3% to USD 2,887 per FEU.
