The government of India has approved 16 road projects, including a bridge over the Mahakali river in the far-western region, in Nepal.
The new projects under India’s financial assistance will be carried out under Indian government’s third Line of Credit.
The projects were agreed upon on Wednesday during the Fifth Bilateral Line of Credit Review Meeting between the governments of India and Nepal in Kathmandu.
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu said in a statement, the road projects will be developed by consolidating 11 road packages and 1 bridge project as it is desirable to keep smaller number of packages to attract quality contractors.

According to Transport Minister Boudjemaa Talai, Algeria is to start construction of a new container port in the first quarter of next year, and plans to develop an international airport dedicated to handling air freight in Tamanrasset in the country's south, with the goal of turning it into a hub for sub-Saharan Africa.
The airport, which already handles civil and military air traffic, is equipped with two runways ranging from 3,100 to 3,600 metres in length.

The BRICS-created New Development Bank (NDB) today approved USD 350 million loan for India for Madhya Pradesh Major District Roads Project besides a USD 290 million loan for a offshore wind project in China.
The NDB announced that its Board of Directors (BoD) has approved two loans for projects in China and India - Putian Pinghai Bay Offshore Wind Power Project (RMB 2 billion) and Madhya Pradesh Major District Roads Project (USD 350 million).

PNC Infratech said it has bagged a project worth INR 232.91 crore for four-laning of road in Uttar Pradesh.
The company said in a filing to BSE, "PNC Infratech Limited has been awarded a project involving four laning of Etah to Kasganj road in Uttar Pradesh for a contract value of INR 232.91 crore.”
The company received the Letter of Award from Public Works Department (PWD), Uttar Pradesh, it said.
This is the third EPC contract won by the company in the current financial year. Previously the company won a state road project and a airport runway project in the current year, aggregating to INR 260 crore.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a USD 100 million loan, on Friday, with regard to a highway project in Pakistan.
The project will mark ADB's first co-financing with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
