DHL eCommerce, a division of Deutsche Post DHL Group, is expanding its service offering in Thailand by enhancing its nationwide coverage with next day delivery outside Bangkok in major provinces, rural and remote areas, as well as extending pick-up service to small e-commerce merchants to meet its growing customer demands.
The company said the move aims to capitalize on the booming Thai e-commerce market that is expected to triple in size to EUR3.6 billion (USD 3.81 billion) between now and 2020.

The Confederation of Indian Industry has said, trade between India and the UAE is set to hit USD 100 billion by 2020, up from the current USD 60 billion.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) said in a statement released here, "This is evident in the growing interest by the Indian companies towards the Middle East markets and in particular the UAE and efforts made by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and CII to further strengthen the trade and investment ties.”
Currently, the trade between Indian and the UAE is estimated around USD 60 billion, it said.

China has launched a new rail and road cargo service linking Guangdong, Tibet and Nepal.
The new cargo service aims to boost trade with the South Asian neighbours as China pushes ahead with its Belt and Road initiative.
The first train departed from the Tibetan border port of Gyirong en route to Kathmandu carrying goods worth USD 2.8 million, including shoes, clothes, hats, furniture, appliances, electronics and building materials.

FedEx Corp has posted a second-quarter net profit of USD 700 million on revenues of USD 14.9 billion for the quarter, year-over-year increases of 1.3% and 19.2%, respectively.

Agility has been awarded a six-year warehousing and logistics contract with Sweden-based Amring, a wholesaler that sells and distributes tyres, rims, complete wheels and related articles for passenger vehicles, trucks and commercial vehicles.
Following the award, Agility announced plans to expand its Gothenburg logistics centre from 8,350 sqm to 23,000 sqm.
As part of the contract, it will provide warehouse services to Amring, as well as bespoke, value-added services including mounting/assembling of wheels.

Iron ore exports jumped 54% to 8.46 million tonnes (mt) in the first half of the Iranian year, to September 21, despite the Iranian government’s policy to halt exports of raw materials, official customs statistics show.

DHL Global Forwarding has recorded a 2% year-on-year increase in air freight export tonnage during the third quarter to 520,000 tonnes, ending 5 consecutive quarterly demand declines.
However, air freight turnover in the third quarter fell by 8.8% compared to the same period a year earlier and gross profits for the mode fell by 5.2% to EUR 220 million (USD 241.3 million).

FedEx has unveiled plans to invest a total of EUR1.4 billion (USD 1.535 billion) in its logistics hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport, including an investment of EUR200 million in a new facility and a 30-year lease.
