PNC Infratech wins INR 2,720-cr highway projects from NHAI 25 March 2017

PNC Infratech has emerged as the lowest bidder for National Highway Authority of India (NHAI)’s two highway projects worth INR 2,720 crore in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

PNC Infratech said in a filing to the BSE, the company has been declared the lowest bidder for the “two hybrid annuity highway projects of NHAI for an aggregate bid project cost of INR 2,720 crore.”

It said one of the projects pertain to four-laning of 75 kilometer (km) Jhansi-Khajuraho section of NH 75/76 (package I) in the states of Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Madhya Pradesh (MP) under NHDP III for INR1,410 crore.

Dilip Buildcon declared successful bidder for INR 3,269 cr road projects 24 March 2017

Dilip Buildcon has emerged as a successful bidder for INR 3,269-crore road projects in Maharashtra.

The company said in a filing to BSE, “The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has declared Dilip Buildcon Limited, Bhopal, as the successful bidder [L-1] for three projects in a single stretch in the state of Maharashtra.”

The projects include four-laning of Mahagaon to Yavatmal section of National Highway (NH)-361 (package II) on hybrid annuity mode at a project cost of INR 1,160.64 crore and four-laning of Yavatmal to Wardha section of NH-361 for INR 1,043.28 crore.

Nittsu Logistics opens warehouse in Sri City 16 March 2017

Nittsu Logistics (India), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Express Company Limited, has inaugurated its warehouse in Sri City.

Yasunori Takahashi, Managing Executive Officer, and Regional General Manager of Nippon Express South Asia & Oceania, along with Seiji Baba, Consul General of Japan in Chennai, commissioned the warehouse.

6,604 km of roads completed till Feb 10 March 2017

An official release said that the target of construction of National Highways (NH) is 15,000 kilometer (km), of which 6,604 km have been completed till February in the current financial year 2016-17.

The slow speed of construction of NH is mainly due to land acquisition, utility shifting, non-availability of soil/aggregates, poor performance of contractors, environment/forest/wildlife clearance, road overbridge and road under-bridge issue with the Railways, public agitation for additional facilities, arbitration and contractual disputes with contractors, among others.

Mumbai Metro third line to be ready by 2020 08 March 2017

Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) Managing Director, Ashwini Bhide, said, the rolling stock for the third line of Mumbai Metro would be ordered in the current year and it would be delivered by 2019. The project is on schedule and is expected to be completed by 2020.

She was addressing the media after inaugurating the first casting yard, that will make concrete rings for lining the Metro tunnels.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won orders worth INR 2,170 crore across its various business segments. More than 50% of the orders have been placed by overseas clients and rest by domestic ones.

A press statement issued by the company said that the power transmission and distribution business has secured orders worth INR 1,169 crore from Oman Electricity Transmission Company SAOC for turnkey construction of the 400/132 kv Qabel Grid Station and associated works.

Dilip Buildcon today said it has completed INR 190.80 crore road project in Madhya Pradesh (MP).

Dilip Buildcon said in a BSE filing, “The company has successfully completed the project of rehabilitation and upgradation of Mandla—Pindrai and Salimnabad—Vilayatkalan major district road intermediate laning/two—laning with paved/hard shoulder in the state of Madhya Pradesh on engineering procurement and construction (EPC) mode.”

Concorís logistics park begins operations in Visakhapatnam 28 February 2017

According to Divisional Railway Manager Chandralekha Mukherjee, Waltair division, Cargo evacuation from Visakhapatnam and Gangavaram ports will get a boost with the commencement of commercial operations at the multi-modal logistics park at Sheelanagar beside the National Highway by the Container Corporation of India (Concor).

Inaugurating the park, she said operations at the railway siding had formally begun on Saturday. Earlier, two trains were operated on a trial basis.

Chardham highway project will be completed by 2018 17 February 2017

The INR 12,000 crore 'Chardham' highway project in Uttarakhand will be completed by the end of 2018 irrespective of which party comes to power in the state, Union minister Nitin Gadkari has assured.

Minister for Road Transport and Highways Gadkari also exuded confidence of winning the state election. Assembly elections in Uttarakhand were held in a single phase yesterday and the results will be announced on March 11.

IL&FS Engineering bags INR 123 cr orders from GAIL 17 February 2017

IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company Limited has received a contract from Gas Authority of India Limited for two pipeline laying contracts worth INR 123.05 crore in Kerala and Karnataka.

Both the spreads are contiguous and are part of Kochi-Koottanad-Mangalore pipeline project.

IL&FS Engineering Services is already executing a part of this Kochi-Koottanad-Mangalore pipeline project for GAIL worth INR 173.13 crore in Kerala.

The company informed in a statement, the company recently won another pipeline laying contract from GAIL worth INR 162.58 crore in Bihar.
