Talks on port, dock workers wages in January

The fourth round meeting of the bipartite wage negotiation committee (BWNC) of the managements of major ports and dockyards and workers decided that the periodicity of settlement would be five years and the annual increment of wages would be 3%, general secretary of National Water Transport Workers Federation of India (WTWFI) Mr. T. Narendra Rao said.

The next round of talks is scheduled to be held at New Mangalore Port Trust on January 4 and 5 where an agreement on the fitment of wages is likely to be reached, he told media persons here on Saturday.
